Web 2.0 Multimedia Blog Pre-Posting

The first day of high school at Wood-Ridge Jr/Sr High School actually was not as bad!  This was my first year taking a new course which is Algebra 1.  For the past 2 years, I have not really learned much in math.  My previous teacher has not taught me much besides how to graph.  My freshman year I have received Mr. Olsen. From what I have seen he seems like a good teacher who actually enjoys teaching my classmates and I.

I expected this class to be scary because I have heard he is actually very difficult.  I mean for the past week I have said that some of the things he has taught were hard but hopefully that is just because it is the beginning of the school year.  He seemed helpful and caring on the first day of school.  I was planning on being completely lost and having no idea what to even take notes on.
In Olsen's class, I have learned multiple different things like tools of Algebra.  Also functions equations and graphs.  His grading policy is the same as every one else.  We have homework every night which I am fine with for now.  Algebra 1 is pretty interesting actually because I am with most of my friends.  They make it more fun.

Mr. Olsen uses a lot of technology in his class.  During cl ass he uses his iPad the whole time to show us what he is doing.  Whatever he does on his iPad pops up on the chalkboard for the class to see.  I have not used it yet but he lets some students show how they got their answer by using the iPad to illustrate their answer.  I like how he lets us participate in class by technology.
Not only do we use his iPad, we use KHAN academy.  I like this website more than what we did use in the past.  In 7th and 8th grade, we used Think Through Math.  Algebra 1 is more organized than most of my classes.  I am very excited to see what else I learn.

  1. Wow, after completing algebra I must say it was one of my least favorites, but it's great to know that you're enjoying it so far! One piece of advice is avoid last minute study sessions in algebra because it won't be as effective as you hope!
